Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has inaugurated a state National Youth Service Governing Board, with a view to achieving the set objectives of the scheme.
A statement by the SSG Chief Publicity Officer, Uba Abdullahi, gave the names of the board members as Abubakar A, representing Nigeria Army, ACP Uzairu Abdullahi representing the Nigeria Police, Naziru Ahmad Ya’u representing Ministry of Commerce, Ibrahim Yahaya Yakasai representing Ministry of Education, Musa Yahaya Bichi Permanent Secretary and Hajiya Aisha Tata Muhammad the State Coordinator to serve as Secretary of the Governing Board.
Special Duties Directorate in the office of the Secretary to the state government, Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry for Local Government are part of the board.
Members of the board were charged to be steadfast in their assignment, in accordance with sections 6 and 7 of the NYSC Administrative Act, dealing with a membership of the state governing board.
The governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Usman Alhaji, said the board members were carefully selected across different sectors of human endeavour.
He urged them to work hard for the overall development of the scheme, assuring them that the state government is fully committed to supporting the service at all times.
Chairman of the governing board Professor Abdu Salihi pledged to work hard for the accomplishment of the set objectives and thank the state government for selecting them to serve in the governing board.
NYSC State Coordinator Hajiya Aisha Tata Muhammad promised to work in synergy with the State government.
