It has been confirmed that Beyonce will release a documentary on Netflix. The Houston,-born singer partnered up with the world’s biggest streaming service to bring us closer to what it took to put together her performance at Coachella.
When will Beyonce’s Homecoming air on Netflix?
The documentary, titled ‘Homecoming‘ will be available on Netflix from Wednesday, 17 April. The singer’s loyal fanbase, the Beyhive, broke the internet when the streaming service released the official trailer.
The very short trailer showed Bey’s daughter, Blue Ivy, and her adorable twins, Rumi and Sir, and a montage of the singer rehearsing with her dancers and band.
What is the Beyonce documentary about?
Much less of an autobiographical account of the singer’s life, Homecoming is expected to solely focus on what it took to put together her Beychella set, which, based on its title theme, was an ode to historically-black universities and colleges in the United States.
“There’s not likely to be a more meaningful, absorbing, forceful and radical performance by an American musician this year, or any year soon.
“It was rich with history, potently political and visually grand. By turns uproarious, rowdy, and lush. A gobsmacking marvel of choreography and musical direction.” well-renowned critic, Jon Caramanica wrote in the New York Times after Bey’s performance in 2018.
This performance was of great significance to the singer. She was initially slated to headline the festival in 2017. However, she was forced to turn it down after she’d fallen pregnant with her twins.
The come-back was ferocious, and in Beyonce fashion, she stole the night with one of music history’s most electric performances.
Those, like us, who were never there to witness it in full will have the opportunity to delve a little deeper into how Bey made it all happen from the comfort of our sofas — ah, life truly is but a dream, thanks to Netflix.
